1st October 2016The barn roof where the little owls have been feeding, is far too fragile for me to lie on, so in order to get any wider-angled shots, low down, I needed to employ a remote set-up.
Initially I needed also to get the owls used to the sound of a camera firing, so I started with my Silent Mode on the Canon 7D Mk2, and when used to that, switched to the normal mode... and eventually to the full fat High Speed mode on the Canon 1DX.
Then it was a case of waiting for the owls to land within range of the lens, and hope they were in focus. I like this particular image as the adult seems to be using some sort of Jedi Mind Trick(for those Star Wars fans out there) on the owlet.
