1st November 2016This month's image comes from a memorable morning spent crouched beside a dead calm loch on the Isle Of Mull. I had been out looking for otters that morning, but had instead spotted this young common (or harbour) seal drying off on a rock, and with the conditions, and the state of the tide, the water around the rock turned into a mirror.
I took a lot of images, but this is my favourite, as the seal appears to be admiring its reflection in the water.
This also helps highlight one of the wonderful aspects of the wildlife on Mull. You just never know what you might see, and what photo opportunities might arise from it. Ever changing light, weather and subjects mean this island tempts me to return year after year for more.
