February 2024
2nd March 2024An image I've had in mind for a while now, is of a crested tit that's not a portrait, but shows the habitat it lives in. So I needed to use a wider angle lens.
Initially I tried with my RF16mm, but without a remote trigger or wireless app, I simply couldn't get close enough to one for the right image. So I swapped to my old EF24-105mm lens instead, and after a bit of a wait, got the birds used to me being closer, and they began to land where I wanted.
I was also fortunate that it had snowed, and in fact was snowing too, when I captured this image.
I still might try again with the wider 16mm lens, but I'll need to be better prepared, with perhaps a tripod, remote trigger or practise harder with getting the rather cumbersome Canon app to work with my R5.
