November 2024
13th December 2024December's image comes from a fantastic few days spent on Mull with two friends, who put me up and put up with me, when I work on the island.
Rather than squeezing in the odd day between workshops to go out, I drove over to the isle specifically for a multiple day "workshop", where we could focus on otters during the limited hours of daylight.
And I have to admit, it does make me wonder why more clients don't book me for workshops during the winter months. We saw so many otters, had so many incredible experiences, both with individuals and families. And while the weather and light were at times challenging, because the island was quiet, we mostly had the otters for ourselves.
This image was from our first day out, when we tracked a family of a mother and her two cubs, for a few hours. They hunted, groomed, slept, suckled and played. Wonderful.
If you would like to experience something like this, then book me for a workshop out of season. November through to February - all great months for seeing otters, and if the sun appears, it'll be that glorious low-winter light.
