This gallery showcases the birds seen in gardens and woodlands throughout the UK.

Some of Pete's favourite species can be seen here, especially migrants such as flycatchers and redstarts. Resident stars include nuthatches and treecreepers, plus tiny characters like goldcrests and the rarer firecrest.

Also included are specialist birds such as crested tits, seen only in Scotland in Caledonian forests, and the ever popular winter visitor, the waxwing.
